Periods 1 & 2 – we took a look at the Smithsonian article linked above and had a discussion about History in two large groups. If you were absent, please read the article and put it through the knowledge framework on your own. Then record the notes from one of the class discussions and compare the two in Journal #23. Period 5 had the same discussion, but it did not include the article linked above. If you were absent, please make a notation in Journal #22 and then read pages 276-284 in the textbook and take notes. Finally, complete a write up on the discussion activity found on page 284 re: Charles Freeman. Today we thought about both yesterday’s events and the presidency of G.H.W. Bush through a historical frame. If you were absent, please see me about how to make up the work missed for Journal Entry #22 as different classes did different things.

Today we watched Arrival (2016) and thought about possible answers to 6 Journal Questions. If you were absent, you will need to watch the first 55 minutes of the movie on your own – you need to watch the whole thing to completely answer the Journal Questions and cannot copy someone else’s answers. Today was all about History as an Area of Knowledge. We worked through a little different version of the Knowledge Framework and discussed the answers. If you were absent, please fill out this handout as it relates to History as an Area of Knowledge.
